A Chattanooga man was shot Tuesday evening, while working in his yard.
At approximately 8:55 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to 4217 Ohls Ave. for a shooting. Officers located 34-year-old Daniel Marlowe suffering from a single gunshot wound to his hip.
Mr. Marlowe stated to investigators that while he was working in his yard, three black males approached him and demanded money. During the confrontation, one of the suspects brandished a firearm and a physical altercation ensued. Mr. Marlowe was shot in the hip by one of the suspects during the altercation and was later transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspects got away with a small amount of cash and fled in a dark-colored sedan.
Investigators are working with potential witnesses and are canvassing the area for evidence.
