Signal Mountain Lions Club To Host Its Annual 4th Of July BBQ

The Signal Mountain Lions Club will host its annual 4th of July BBQ at Althaus Park (behind the Country Club) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday.

BBQ plates and bulk orders are only $10. It is an annual tradition that is fun for the entire family. Fireworks will be held on the golf course around 9:40 p.m.

This fundraiser is one of three that in turn, benefits the entire community of Signal Mountain and Walden. Last year the club donated nearly $29,000 back to the community in charitable donations.

Over 500 Participated In Cleveland Recycles 5K Run And 1 Mile Fun Walk

The city of Cleveland hosted is second annual Cleveland Recycles 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk on Saturday. The race drew 552 registrations with 420 people participating this year. The event was held at Cleveland newest park, Greenway Park, which is situated along the Cleveland/Bradley Greenway. Fire Displaces Mother And Son At House Near Dodds Avenue

No one was home when fire broke out in a Chattanooga home near Dodds Avenue late Friday morning. The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm around 11 a.m. and responded to 2609 Reece St. with four fire companies.  Battalion Chief Carlos Hampton said the firefighters made a quick, interior attack and got the fire under control in roughly 10 minutes. ...
