The Health Department’s WIC Breastfeeding Support Program will co-host The Big Latch On this Saturday, at Riverpark pavilion 4 on Amnicola Highway. Participants should arrive at 10 a.m. to register.
The Big Latch On aims to protect, promote and support breastfeeding women. It is a community-building event held every August to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week. The event involves groups of breastfeeding women coming together at registered locations around the world to all ‘latch on’ (breastfeed) their child at a set time. The current record is 14,536 children breastfeeding across 845 locations in 28 countries.
The on-site contact for media interviews is Erlanger Health System’s Glenda Parks.
