8600 Block East Brainerd Road Lane Closure

The westbound (inbound) lane of the 8600 block of East Brainerd Road will be closed for a water line repair project beginning Friday at 7 p.m.  The lane will be reopened on Saturday by 6 a.m.   

Westbound traffic will be detoured north on Morris Hill Road to west on Igou Gap Road, then south on Grays Road to Jenkins Road, and then back to East Brainerd Road.

Motorists are advised to use caution when approaching the intersection of East Brainerd Road, Hurricane Creek Road and Morris Hill Road, as there will be traffic pattern changes for all approaches to the intersection.

GANGS Community Education Program To Take Place Thursday

The Walker County Sheriff's Office will host a community education program about gangs on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the New Covenant Baptist Church, 105 Spruce St. in Rossville.   Sgt. Colton Krumrie, Chattanooga Police Department, will share information about gang activity in the area and what the public can do to help law enforcement. There is no charge for this event.
