Harrison Ruritan Club To Host Countywide Candidates' Rally On July 12

An All-Candidates Rally will be held on Saturday, July 12, from 4-8 p.m.

Candidates who have opposition will be allowed to speak for three minutes, and those without an opponent will have two minutes. David Carroll, WRCB news anchor will be the moderator.

The event will be held at the Harrison Ruritan Club, 5709 Tyner Lane, next to Harrison Elementary School. Fish or BBQ dinners will be served from 4-8 p.m.

Proceeds from the dinners will be used for the Harrison Ruritan Club community service projects. The Harrison Club is the largest club in Ruritan with 176 members. 

The club was recently presented a “Blue Ribbon Award” from Ruritan National.

UDC Jefferson Davis Chapter Hosts 120th Tennessee Division Convention At Read House

Dalton Police Department Welcomes New Officer, Tyler Hammontree

The Dalton Police Department welcomed a new officer to the ranks on Tuesday morning when the Public Safety Commission voted unanimously to confirm the appointment of Officer Tyler Hammontree. In a surprise vote, the City Council on Tuesday night turned down allowing a process to legalize short term vacation rentals in Chattanooga. Only Chip Henderson and Jerry Mitchell voted in favor.
