Harrison Ruritan Club To Host Countywide Candidates' Rally On July 12

An All-Candidates Rally will be held on Saturday, July 12, from 4-8 p.m.

Candidates who have opposition will be allowed to speak for three minutes, and those without an opponent will have two minutes. David Carroll, WRCB news anchor will be the moderator.

The event will be held at the Harrison Ruritan Club, 5709 Tyner Lane, next to Harrison Elementary School. Fish or BBQ dinners will be served from 4-8 p.m.

Proceeds from the dinners will be used for the Harrison Ruritan Club community service projects. The Harrison Club is the largest club in Ruritan with 176 members. 

The club was recently presented a “Blue Ribbon Award” from Ruritan National.

Rainbow Day Care Presents Black History Through Song, Dance, Poetry: “Legends From The Past To The Present”

Dalton Police Department Announces Promotions

The Dalton Police Department opened Tuesday morning’s meeting of the Dalton Public Safety Commission with the introduction of a new officer. 6,533 Apply For Chattanooga Housing Authority Voucher Program

The Chattanooga Housing Authority closed its Housing Choice Voucher Program application process Monday at 11:59 p.m. There were 6,533 applicants. CHA will randomly select 1,000 of those names on Monday, for the voucher program waiting list. Times Free Press Pays Bonuses, Has Layoffs

The Chattanooga Times Free Press told employees on Monday that the newspaper had improved financial performance over the prior year quarters and employees were receiving two percent bonuses.
