Robert “Mack” McCormick, 77, of Chickamauga, GA, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014.
Robert was born to the late Tom and Effie McCormick on October 3, 1936. He attended The Way of The Cross Baptist Church. Robert was a retired veteran of the United States Army. In his time of serving his country, he served two terms in Vietnam. In the last 24 years Mack has managed the “Kensington Farm”.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandson, Eric Lebron McCormick; and brother, Paul McCormick.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Thelma McCormick of Chickamauga; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene ( J.D.) Mullis, of LaFayette and Paula (Robert) Barnes, of Chickamauga; son and daughter-in-law, Perry (Sharon) McCormick, of LaFayette; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy (Susan) McCormick, of Chickamauga; seven grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Way of The Cross Baptist Church will be Sunday, July 6 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mika Nave and Rev. Oscar Stapp officiating. Interment will follow in the Coulter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, July 6 from 5-9 p.m.
