Woman Was Killed After Being Hit Head-On In Saturday Afternoon Wreck On Shallowford Road

A woman was killed in the three-vehicle accident on Shallowford Road near North Moore Road on Saturday afternoon.

She was identified as 73-year-old Beatrice Lambdin.

At 3:36 p.m., Chattanooga Police traffic units responded to 4200 Shallowford Road.

Upon arrival traffic officers found that the driver of vehicle #1 was traveling east on Shallowford Road and hit vehicle #2 causing vehicle #2 to roll over. Vehicle #1 then hit vehicle #3 head-on.

The driver of vehicle #1 was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The driver of vehicle #2 had very minor injuries.

The driver of vehicle #3, Ms. Lambdin,  was pronounced dead at the scene.

There have been no charges filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

Woman Makes Commotion At Erlanger; Assaults Officers

Susan Teresa Jones is facing a variety of charges after police said she made a commotion at Erlanger Hospital and assaulted several officers, including biting and kicking them. Ms. Jones, 54, is charged with two counts of assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, aggravated assault on police and criminal trespass.
