Chemical Reaction Accident Occurs At Dalton Plant

Dalton Police and Dalton Fire responded shortly after 7 a.m. to a chemical reaction accident that happened at MFG Chemical on Kimberly Park Drive.

Willowdale Road, Kimberly Park Drive, and Crow Valley Road were all closed, but the area was re-opened later.

One person who was exposed to the chemical when the accident happened, was put through decontamination and transported to the Wellstar Cobb County hospital after apparently inhaling the chemical. There was no word on his condition.

A command post was set up at the RaceTrac gas station on Shugart Street.
