Georgia Martin, 90, of Hixson, died on Monday, July 7, 2014.
She was born in Flat Rock, Al., and graduated from Flat Rock High School. Georgia worked at Dixie Yarn, American Lava, 3M Company and retired from GE Company in 1985. She attended Bethel Temple Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Daily Pritchett and Daniel Brunson Burkhalter; husband, Jim Martin; siblings, James Burkhalter and Lora Lyda; son-in-law, Freddie Blanks.
Survivors include faithful daughter, Diane Blanks; grandchildren, Brunson Blanks and Val (Matt) Stubblefield; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Josie; siblings, Sylvia Nancarrow and Patsy Elliott.
Funeral services are at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Pastor Ernie Varner and Pastor Terry Evans officiating. Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
