Rhyme N Chatt presents jazz and poetry featuring the M3 Lounge with Melvin M. Miller and special guests, on Friday, Aug. 1.  Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. 

The event will be held at the CBC, Tropicana Room, 110 Jordan Dr. 

Tickets are 15 in advance, $20 the day of show.

Friday Night Comedy Improv At Chattanooga State During February

Friday Night Comedy Improv will be held Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga State Humanities Theatre, 4501 Amnicola Hwy.  Admission is free.  Comedy improvisation returns to Chattanooga State with second year students of the Professional Actor Training Program, joined by faculty and staff.  The scenes are improvised from audience suggestions. ... State Attorney General Rules Against Erlanger On Closed Meeting Where Management Bonuses Were Discussed

The state attorney general's office has ruled that, under a section of the state Sunshine Law, that the board of a public hospital is not allowed to meet privately to discuss employee bonuses. Chief Fletcher Gives Maximum Punishment To Officer Who Fired At Vehicle That Backed Toward Him; Attorney Vows To Fight To Reverse Decision

Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher has given a maximum punishment to an officer who fired four shots toward a vehicle after he said the driver backed into his vehicle with him standing behind it.
