Vote For Rhonda Thurman

Friday, August 1, 2014
In reference to Hamilton County District 1 Commission Race, I encourage you to vote for my friend of 20 plus years, Rhonda Thurman.  On a personal note I will relate a few things about Rhonda that you may or may not be aware of.  First and foremost, Rhonda  will not lie; she is most trustworthy and honest.  Secondly, Rhonda is a humanitarian.  Each year prior to the start of school Rhonda and husband Don spend a few hundred dollars purchasing school supplies for underprivileged children distributing thru the Hamilton County Elementary Schools.
They never mention this, giving from their heart and never asking for anything in return.  I have personally seen, on several occasions, Rhonda give furniture, TVs, housewares, etc.  to persons in need.  Not long ago Rhonda gave the refrigerator and dishwasher from her home to a young couple in need doing without herself several days until she could get replacements.  Additionally, when Rhonda speaks and/or works on a controversial issue, county or school board, you can rest assured she had done her homework and attained the facts of the situation and will do her utmost to rectify the issue.   As a Hamilton County Commissioner Rhonda will accept each challenge and work hard for the residents of her District.
I therefore ask you to write-in RHONDA THURMAN giving her the opportunity to serve as District I  Commissioner.

Replace The VFW Flag

I agree with my dear friend, David Carroll.  If it’s a money thing, I will join in with Dave and buy a new flag for the VFW. I am puzzled as to why this tattered flag is flying at a VFW post of all places.  My dad was at Pearl Harbor when the signing to end the war took place on the Missouri.  My mom was also there and worked as a secretary to Admiral Nimitz.  My ... Central Rolls Past Hixson In Surprise District 6-AA Romp

The Hixson Wildcats have played a lot of close basketball games this season, but Tuesday's District 6-AA clash at Central wasn't one of them. The Purple Pounders have been hit hard with season-ending injuries as three key players are out with ACL tears while a fourth suffered a broken leg a few weeks back. Despite all of that, there are still some talented players on the Central ... (click for more)
