Wilderness Wild Fest Set For Aug. 23

The Wilderness Wild Fest, a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 12-8 p.m. at Outdoor Chattanooga at Coolidge Park, 200 River St. 

This is a free family event with the Cherokee-Sierra group and will include speakers, dancers, skits, music, food and merchandise.  There will be children's games/activities, an edible plant hike, an art show and do it yourself solar.   

Participants will have a chance to canoe or kayak to Audubon Island and hike, Geocache 101 (with prizes and some cash) and Seek, Find, and Keep.  There will be stories by internationally known artist Barry K. Snyder and information booths and raffle prizes.

McKamey Animal Center's Annual Doggie-1000-Egg Hunt Takes Place April 8

The annual Doggie-1000-Egg Hunt at the McKamey Animal Center, located at 4500 North Access Road in Chattanooga will be  Saturday April 8, starting promptly at  10:30 a.m . 2 Shot On Rawlings Street Friday Night; 1 In Critical Condition

Two people were shot, Friday night, and one is in critical condition. Car Crashes Into Motel 6 In Dalton; Driver, 17, Admits To Texting While Driving

The Dalton Police Department and Dalton Fire Department responded Saturday morning to a crash at the Motel 6 at Highway 41 and Tibbs Road.
