St. Jude School Begins New Year

St. Jude School opened its doors to welcome new and returning students, families and staff to the 2014/2015 school year. Thanks to the many hours donated by parents in the Classroom Adoption Program, rooms were painted, furnished and organized. Families "adopted a garden" and helped to beautify campus. New teacher and student computers were installed in all buildings. Mrs. Katie Mullinix began the year as the new 5th grade teacher.


Lu And Liu Take First Place In Lee’s Piano Competition

Yun Lu and Vincent Liu took first place in the 12th annual Lee University piano competitions for the collegiate and pre-collegiate divisions, respectively. Georgia Northwestern's GED Center To Hold Orientation

Fire Destroys Highway 58 BBQ

A fire destroyed a barbeque restaurant on Highway 58 on Friday afternoon.   Chattanooga firefighters were dispatched to the Highway 58 BBQ around 6 p.m. The business is located at 4921 Highway 58. A second Independent candidate may be on the ballot for sole commissioner of Walker County in the election on Nov. 8. Perry D.
