Steve Smith Is Thankful For The Extraordinary Honor

Wednesday, August 13, 2014

Thank you Hamilton County voters. I apologize for waiting a week to give thanks, but I wanted to let the emotions of the period leading up to the election subside. I feel a little more clearheaded now.

All of you who put up a lawn sign, held one on election day or drove around town with a bumper sticker  - you did it. All of you who wore my T-shirts, passed out campaign materials or talked me up to your friends - you did it. All of you who came to the rallies, parades and house meetings - you did it.

Now it is my turn to take the support, good wishes and votes of confidence and make good on them over the next eight years by upholding the oath of office I'll take when I'm sworn in Sept. 2.

I am an ordinary man. This is an extraordinary honor. Thank you again.

Steve Smith
District Public Defender Elect
