Homeowner Shoots Home Invader In Catoosa County

A homeowner shot a home invader in the leg in Catoosa County on Friday afternoon.

Sheriff Gary Sisk said at approximately 1:30 p.m., Catoosa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Vero Beach Avenue off State Line Road in regard to a home invasion/burglary that had occurred and shots had been fired. 

The suspects then fled the scene in a gold Ford Crown Victoria. 

Upon officers’ arrival, it was confirmed that at least one black male had entered a residence with a firearm and a struggle ensued.  The homeowner then shot the suspect in the upper leg. 

After the incident involving the shooting, Catoosa officers were contacted by Chattanooga authorities regarding a black male who had arrived at Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper leg.  Detectives gathered statements from the victim and neighbors and processed the scene.  Investigators responded to the hospital to attempt to question the man who was shot.
