Wayne Wilson Harper, 67, of Harrison, Tennessee, died on Sunday, August 17, 2014 after an extended illness.
He was born April 5, 1947, in Detroit, to the late Wilson and Ruth Marshall Harper.
Mr. Harper was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He and his wife, Angela, served as missionaries to Brisbane and Melbourne, Australia for 37 years through B.I.M.I.
He was a veteran and served as a military police officer in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Angela Harper; three sons, Andrew (Crystal) Harper of Baton Rouge; Samuel Harper of Nashville; Caleb Harper of Toledo; three brothers, Gary (Vickie) Harper of Allen Park, Mi.; Timothy (Sherry) Harper of Freemont, Mi.; Steven Harper of Jenison, Mi.; and two granddaughters, Chloe and Annabelle Harper of Baton Rouge.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Euler, Dr. John Halsey, the Reverend Robert Meyer, and the Reverend Kelley O’Rear officiating.
The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
