Chattanooga Bitcoin Group Meets Aug. 26

The next meeting of the Chattanooga Bitcoin Group will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the 4th floor of the downtown branch of the Hamilton County Public Library.

An informal hands-on workshop will start at 5 p.m. with the official meeting beginning at 6 p.m.  There is no charge for the event but, those wanting to attend the workshop are asked to bring a laptop and power supply. The library will supply both power outlets and wifi.

All experience levels are welcome.  The workshop will discuss what bitcoins are, how to get some, and how to use them.



Wilcox Tunnel To Be Closed For Maintenance

Wilcox Tunnel will be closed from  8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Friday,  for maintenance preparation, remain open through the weekend, and then close again  Monday through Friday, Oct. 31 , each day, from  8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.  for routine maintenance and testing. Architect/Contractor Selected By Erlanger For New Children's/Women's Hospital

Red Bank Protestors Say Police Out Of Control

Regular city business was overshadowed at the Red Bank Commission meeting Tuesday night by citizens protesting recent police actions. Outside city hall people holding signs lined the sidewalk and, in the time set aside for residents of the city to speak, the ones that did expressed disapproval of the police procedures surrounding a traffic stop that ended in an alleged beating. ...
