South Pittsburg has been picked No. 1 in the Coaches' Predictions in Murphy Fair's Tennessee High School Football magazine.

The Pirates, coached by Tim Moore, lost to Union City in the 1A state championship game last year. It was Moore's first season as head coach.

Moore has concerns with depth this season, especially on the defensive side where only four starters return.

Fair's book can be purchased at the following Chattanooga locations:

Big Ridge Cleaners - 5936 Hixson Pike (Publix Shopping Center)

Mountain City Cleaners - 3554 Broad Street

Carriage Cleaners - 715 Signal Mountain Rd.

Carriage Cleaners - 3835 Dayton Blvd
