Charges of leaving the scene of an accident were bound to the Grand Jury on Wednesday against a man charged with driving off after hitting a motorcycle driven by a 17-year-old Ooltewah High School student.

Welner Martinez Castillo, 27, appeared before General Sessions Court Judge Gary Starnes.

Family members said the arm of Evan Bidwell is paralyzed and he may face amputation.

The wreck happened Aug. 13, 2013, on South Moore Road. Castillo came out from a side street and the motorcycle struck his vehicle.

Castillo abandoned his car nearby on Mayfair Avenue. Someone nearby took him to the hospital. He later left the hospital and was only arrested last week.
