Mark Making And Glass House Collective Host Ribbon Cutting

  • Thursday, August 21, 2014

Mark Making and Glass House Collective, in partnership with Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, will host a Glass Street ribbon cutting on Friday, Sept. 5, at 5:30 p.m. to celebrate their expanded presence in East Chattanooga.

The ribbon cutting will be held at the 2500 block of Glass Street.

Mark Making has relocated to their new East Chattanooga home after operating out of their North Chattanooga studio for over five years. The larger studio space will significantly broaden their ability to create new public art projects and greatly increase their level of impact in local underserved communities, said officials.

Glass House Collective and Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise will be celebrating the opening of a new park at 2509 Glass St. A vacant lot has been repurposed into a pocket park with game tables, a swing set and mural. The Glass Street Park was a collaborative effort between Glass House Collective, CNE, neighborhood residents, the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga and the Benwood Foundation.

Numerous elected officials, community stakeholders and neighborhood residents will be in attendance. Mark Making will offer tours of the studio and classroom space and refreshments will be served.
