Tutton, Toni Woods (Summerville)

Toni Woods Tutton, 78, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Friday, August 22, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs. Tutton was born March 23, 1936, in Lyerly, Ga., daughter of the late William Calvin and Liela Brady Woods. She was a member of the Summerville First Methodist Church. Mrs. Tutton was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was retired from the Chattooga County School System where she served as Food Service Director. She also pioneered the Childrens Caravan Early Learning Program with Vickie Williams Jarrett and served as the Summerville Elementary School administrator.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tutton was preceded in death by her brothers, Mell Woods and Bill Woods; and half sisters, Ann Woods Cornish and Massena Woods.

Mrs. Tutton is survived by her husband, Charles Meredith Tutton; sons, Charles Randall Tutton, William Meredith Tutton; a sister, Sue Woods Hurley; grandchildren, Nickolas Tutton and Natalie Tutton.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Lyerly Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randall Tutton, Bill Tutton, Nick Tutton, Eddie Hurley, Barry Hurley, Will Bowman, Tim Bowman, and Steve Jackson.

Mrs. Tutton will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Heyman Hospice.
