Mary B. Roe, a resident of the East Brainerd area for over 50 years, died on Saturday, Aug. 23. She was 86.
She was a native of the Chattanooga area and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She was retired from General Electric (formerly 3M and American Lava) with over 37 years of service.
Mary was the daughter of the late Amon A. and Eva Bailey Rice. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Aaron N. Roe, as well as brothers, Amon (Junior) and Raymond Rice and sisters, Jo Holland and Eva Kilgore.
She is survived by her brothers, Franklin, James, and Doyle Rice, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Brainerd Road Chapel on Sunday, Aug. 24, from 1-3:30 p.m.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24, at Plowman Cemetery in Apison, led by her nephew, Fred Pierce. Pallbearers will include her nephews, Charlie Poarch, Earl Rhinehart, and Michael Rice, her cousin, Ronney Lee, and family friends, Bobby Morris and Clyde Roberts.
