Kevin Robert Hudson, 36, of Cleveland, Tn, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 unexpectedly.   

Kevin was born July 14, 1978 and was raised in Cleveland, TN.  He entered the Air Force and began Basic Military Training at Lackland AFB, Texas in February 1999.  After Basic Training, he continued his technical training as a Security Forces Apprentice, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.  Upon graduation, Kevin was assigned to the 78th Security Forces Squadron, Robins AFB, Georgia.  Then, in April 2003, Kevin found a new home, at Dover AFB, Delaware, as a member of the 436th Security Forces Squadron. During his time with the 436th Security Forces Squadron, Kevin earned certifications as Response Force Leader, Base Defense Operations Controller, and Flight Chief.  He also performed duties as the NCOIC, Vehicles and Unit Deployment Manager.  However, Kevin was best known for his dedication to the 436th Security Forces Squadron’s RAVEN Section.  After graduating the prestigious Phoenix RAVEN course, and earning RAVEN number 1091, Kevin proved his devotion to the Air Force mission, amassing two years, 11 months and 14 days of overseas service.  Whether Humanitarian, Capstone or Wartime mission, Kevin always ensured the personal and cargo were delivered, and his team arrived home safe and sound.  Upon reflection of his career and family, Kevin decided to opt for early retirement, and was retired honorably on August 1, 2014.  Sergeant Hudson’s military decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Professional Military Education Training Ribbon and Air Force Training Ribbon. 

He is survived by his son, Hunter; Hunter’s mother, Cheryl; his mother, Susan Nuttall of Atlanta, GA; his father and step-mother, Charles and Betty Hudson; his sister, Kristen Vance and husband, Kevin Vance; niece, Katie; and grandmother, Billie Nuttall. 

A gathering of friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, August 24, at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, who is in charge of the arrangements.
