Joseph Lamar Williams, 62, of Dalton, GA, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Chester and Annie Bell Henderson Williams; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors are his wife of 43 years, LaWanda Whitener Williams of Dalton; two daughters, Christy (Mike) Williams of Chattanooga and Stephanie Joanna Lundy of Lafayette, GA; two grandchildren, Jalen Storey and Pashen Love; one great-grandson, Zayden Storey of Dalton; three sisters, Sally Williams of Chattanooga, Bessie Williams and Edith Rice of Beaumont, TX; one brother, James (Patricia) Williams; sisters-in-law, Alice Williams of Chattanooga, Cathy Cummings and Mary Helen King of Dalton; brother-in-law, Elbert Hinton of Chattanooga; special friends; Eric (Peggy) Mitchell, Clifford Clark, Miles Montgomery, Gary (Tammy) Mosely, Brad (Celeste) Hinton, Gregory Careathers and Mike Upshaw; nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Joseph Williams will be held Monday, August 25, at 12 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 2014 M. L. K. Jr. Blvd. with Bro. James Brown and Rev. Chris Bonds officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 24 from 6-7 p.m. in the Chapel of the Willis Funeral Home. I
