David Revels
David Michael Revels, 55, of Rossville, died on Friday, August 22, 2014.
He had lived most of his life in Hayward, California, where he graduated from Sunset High School Class of 76, but had lived in the North Georgia area for the last 27 years. He was of the Baptist faith and was a Navy veteran who participated with the attempted rescue of American hostages who were being held at the American Embassy in Tehran, Iran in March of 1980. He was previously employed with Sonitrol as a service tech for more than 20 years and most recently worked with Arcade Marketing as a union printer for more than 10 years. He loved tattoos, watching NASCAR, Alabama Football and the San Francisco 49ers. He was a loving brother and uncle who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Revels; mother, Reba Porter and sister, Deborah Revels.
Survivors include his three sisters, Robin Hamilton and Kimberly Leedy both of Valley Head, Al., and Lisa Singleton of Rossville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, and prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
