Gloria Hunt Seeking Seat On Catoosa School Board

Gloria Hunt, who became an interim school board member in Catoosa County, District 1, this past summer, is now seeking a full term.

She replaced former school board member Billy Joe McDaniel who died recently after serving  38 years on the board.

Ms. Hunt has run a business and is a retired teacher from Battlefield Elementary.

She faces two challengers in the November General Election.

If elected, she will be the sole woman on the Catoosa County Board of Education.

1 Shot And Killed In St. Elmo; 2nd Person Taken To Hospital

One person was shot and killed in St. Elmo. Another person was taken to the hospital. The person transported was driving a Lincoln that was behind the church off of Virginia Avenue. 6 People, Including 4 Children, Die In Mobile Home Fire In Trion, Ga.

Six people, including four children, died in a mobile home fire at Trion, Ga., on Sunday night. The fire broke out on Airport Road in Chattooga County.
