Jerry Miller
Jerry “Pap” Miller, 76, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a servant of the Lord, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, hard worker, and friend.
He was born in Point Marion, Pa. He loved Calvary Bible Church on Mountain Creek Road where he was an active member for more than 37 years.
He was a Journeyman Iron Worker of Local 704 working at Sequoyah before retirement, and then a draftsman at Bradley Steel. He left a tangible mark on the many structures surrounding the Chattanooga area. He loved woodworking and made countless items for his family. Jerry was currently employed as an Ambassador for Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Rodney (Lisa), Todd, Carrie Phillips (Buddy), and Jason (Angie); eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Austin, Cora, Tyler, Delaney, Eliana, Cohen and Levi; brothers, Jim (Marlynn) and Warren of PA.; and several sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 28, from 1-3 p.m. with the funeral being Thursday at 3 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace with Pastor Bill Henry officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Erlanger Hospital doctors, staff, and student for all their help and loving support during his illness. Thank you to Lane Funeral Home for all their guidance and love during this difficult time.
