The Signal Mountain Lions Club will host its annual Labor Day BBQ at Althaus Park (behind the Country Club) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.  

BBQ plates and bulk orders are available, as well as hot dogs for the kids.  

The day's highlight will be the drawing for a brand new car, in addition to awarding many other prizes.

The money raised by this annual event benefits the community of Signal Mountain and Walden. Last year the club donated nearly $29,000 back to the community in charitable donation.

Free Produce Giveaway For The Eastdale Community Is Sept. 1

Eastdale Village Community United Methodist Church and Eastdale Neighborhood Association are providing free produce to feed the community.   The event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 3:30 p.m. until all the produce is gone. Two nearby Red Bank retail centers have sold for a combined $9.4 million. Red Bank Mayor John Roberts called it "the largest transactions in the history of Red Bank." Jury Awards 25 City Police Personnel Total Of $562,000 On Claims That Pay Plan Was Not Followed

A Chancery Court jury on Wednesday gave a verdict totaling $562,000 for 25 city police personnel who filed suit almost five years ago alleging that the city never lived up to terms of a 2010 pay plan.
