World War II Veteran Was 3rd-Generation Chattanoogan

John Thomas Turner died peacefully early Wednesday morning, August 27, 2014. 

He was a longtime resident and third generation Chattanoogan. Tom, a World War II veteran, was 90.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Turner; and his two favorite aunts, Irene Younger and Maude Younger. Also preceding Tom in death were Willa Turner and their sons, David M. Turner and Daniel C. Turner.

Survivors include his brother, William Turner; sister, Josephine Wilkins; his children: Tom Turner, Jim Turner, Steve Turner, Cindy Williamson, Patty Arbuckle, Terry Turner, as well as daughters, MacKenzi Turner, Jessi Turner, and their mother, Karen Turner; and beloved friend, Mark Timon. He leaves a legacy of 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 with Pastor Fred Santana officiating and interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
