Doris Evelyn English, 81, of Red Bank, died on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in a local health care facility.

Mrs. English was a native of Chattanooga and the only daughter of the late Ira and Blanche
Brewer.

She was a longtime member of Red Bank Baptist Church and the Hope Sunday School Class.

Mrs. English was also active in the Beta Sigma Fi Sorority, having held membership with the organization since 1965.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack English.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Melvia English; grandsons, William and Matthew (Stefanie) English; and other family, Amy and Kailey Carter.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Bert Jones officiating.

Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from noon until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Soddy Daisy Healthcare for the care they provided during Mrs. English’s illness.
