Jericho Brass Band Opens 17th Season Sept. 28

The Jericho Brass Band, under the direction of Frank Hale, will open its 17th season of Brass Band music in the Chattanooga area at Crosspath at East Ridge, 4201 Ringgold Road, on Sunday, Sept. 28. 

The concert will begin at 5 p.m. and will feature a mixture of marches, sacred hymns, solos and standard brass band literature.  

The concert is free and family friendly.


Saunders, Barclay And Butler Play At Charles And Myrtle's Saturday

Three local singers and songwriters, Megan Saunders, Katrina Barclay and Fritsl Butler, will perform at Charles and Myrtle's Coffeehouse on Saturday at 8 p.m. The coffeehouse is inside Christ Unity Church at 105 McBrien Road. UAB Chamber Trio To Present Recital Oct. 19

The UAB Chamber Trio will present a guest chamber recital on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall, Fine Arts Center, UTC. DA Pinkston Files Petition To Declare 2 Gangs A Public Nuisance

District Attorney General Neal Pinkston filed a petition on Monday asking that two Chattanooga gangs, the Gangster Disciples and the Grape Street Crips, and their members be declared public nuisances. General Pinkston is also "asking that injunctive relief be given to the law-abiding residents of East Lake by establishing a Safety Zone that covers most of their neighborhood." ... (click for more)

2 Boaters Die In Suspected Carbon Monoxide Poisoning On Chickamauga Lake

Two boaters and their pet were pronounced dead at the scene of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning on Chickamauga Lake.  Kristy D. James and Mike L.
