Betty Lawson
Betty Jean Quarles Lawson, 73, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014.
She was born in Chattanooga and the daughter of the late Ed Quarles and her birth mother, the late Laura Weldon. Her adoptive mother was the late Ruby Quarles. Betty was affiliated with a local Church of God assembly. She was a graduate of Tyner High School. Betty was presently retired but had been employed as a waitress for several restaurants over the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry C.L. Lawson, two brothers, Kenneth Quarles and Robert Headrick.
She is survived by her two children: Cindy Frazier Cartwright (Mike) and Mickey E. Frazier (Cassidy); three grandchildren: Daniel H. Cartwright, Nicholas Frazier, and Britley Frazier, all of Chattanooga; two sisters: Mary Lee Mullen of Phoenix, Arizona and Darleene Williams of Rossville, Georgia; several nieces and nephews. Betty also loved her little Yorkshire Terrier, Feebee.
Her family wishes to thank her friends and the gracious staff at the Summit View Retirement community.
Visitation is on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Lane Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m.
Burial is at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Chattanooga National Cemetery, with the procession leaving the funeral home at 10 a.m.
