Shaw Industries Receives Several Awards

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. received several industry honors recognizing its product portfolio, leading edge design, sustainability leadership and customer service from resident flooring and commercial industry publications.

Best Overall Manufacturer and Environmental Leadership: Shaw received two of the highest honors in the 2014 Floor Covering News (FCNews) 

Award of Excellence: Best Overall Manufacturer for the fourth time and Best in Environmental Leadership for the fifth consecutive year. These awards, which reflect the results of FCNews’ annual survey of thousands of flooring industry professionals aimedat identifying the best flooring manufacturers.Sponsored by FCNews and the World Floor Covering Association, the Award of Excellence reflects feedback from industry insiders about the companies they feel consistently provide the best service, have the most responsive sales force, lead in environmental responsibility, have an effective management team, and that provide good value and leading edge design. 

Market Leading Brands and Sustainability Achievement: The ReCo Market Intelligence Survey, published by Floor Covering Weekly, recognized Shaw as the leading brand in carpet, laminate, and hardwood. The ReCo survey, conducted annually by an independent research firm, ranks the standing of top brands within the retail flooring industry. 

Also from Floor Covering Weekly, Shaw received the Pinnacle Award, the highest honor in the Green Step Awards recognizing environmental achievements and stewardship. The company received additional recognition for promotion of its partnership with St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Excellence in Service, Design and Quality: Additionally, Shaw claimed several top places in the retailer survey conducted by Floor Focus placing in the top three for service, design and quality in hardwood and carpet. 

Commercial Design Leadership: Shaw’s commercial brands once again garnered top honors at NeoCon, North America’s largest design exposition and conference for commercial interiors. Shaw Contract Group won a Best of NeoCon award for the 13th consecutive year, a honor no one else in the industry can proclaim. Patcraft earned the brand’s second Best of NeoCon award for by addressing a growing interest in mixing hard and soft surface products. Contract Design magazine presents the Best of NeoCon Awards. 

Shaw Hospitality Group won Best of Show for Flooring and Best of Competition for the Be Bold collection at the 2013 Hospitality and Design Expo and Conference, the premier trade show for the hospitality design industry. Presented by Hospitality Design magazine, the show is at the forefront of the newest and most innovative products and services, encouraging and sharing ideas, providing inspiration and connecting the industry.


CBL & Associates Declares Common Stock Dividend And Preferred Stock Dividend

Covenant Transport To Pay $30,000 To Settle EEOC Disability Discrimination Suit

Covenant Transport, Inc. will pay $30,000 and furnish other relief to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the federal agency announced Friday.   The EEOC’s suit had charged that Covenant discriminated against an applicant for a commercial truck driver position on the basis of his disability. Dallas Bay firefighters saved a home from burning to the ground on Saturday afternoon. Around 1 p.m., the homeowner called 911 reporting a house fire located at 1856 Cotter Road. Just 4,380 Have Voted In The City Election After 9 Days Of Early Voting

Just 4,380 Chattanooga voters have cast ballots after nine days of early voting leading up to the March 7 city election. One day just 48 people showed up at the Northgate voting site.
