Last fall at a Chattanooga Quarterback Club luncheon, UTC women’s basketball coach Jim Foster promised to host nationally-ranked teams in McKenzie Arena in upcoming years.

The hall of fame coach has kept his promise in spades.

For this season, the Mocs host Tennessee (November) and Stanford (Dec. 17) and travel to Notre Dame, while the Irish and two-time defending NCAA champion UConn come calling during the first half of the 2015-16 season.

At that QB Club lunch one attendee was pleasantly surprised the Mocs coach could schedule the likes of the aforementioned basketball powers.

“Well I know a few people,” responded coach Foster with a smile.

Notre Dame coach Muffet McGraw  (1980-82)  and UConn legend Geno Auriemma (1978-79) both served as assistants to Foster when he was head coach at St. Joseph’s (Pa.).

UConn, Tennessee, Notre Dame and Stanford have won a combined 20 NCAA championships.

The 2014-15 schedule should be released soon with an attractive home schedule which includes the Lady Vols, The Cardinal, a possible Ivy League school and at least one tournament, plus the Southern Conference games.
