Fleischmann Takes Close Victory Over Wamp

Rep. Chuck Fleischmann took a narrow election win over challenger Weston Wamp.

The incumbent led by just about a thousand votes throughout the night on Thursday.

Rep. Chuck Fleischmann 45,526

Weston Wamp 43,822

After a caustic campaign, the two were neck in neck in Hamilton County, but Rep. Fleischmann pulled it out. Mr. Wamp, son of former Congressman Zach Wamp, had won in Hamilton County two years ago, and focused much of his attention in the northern counties.

Rep. Fleischmann had a lead in Bradley County.
