Tom Winston has been selected as director of provider contracting for West and Middle Tennessee for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. In this role, he will be responsible for defining and directing contracting strategies and negotiations for physicians, hospitals and other providers in these two regions. He will be based in BlueCross’s Nashville office.
“Tom is bringing almost 20 years of health care experience into this leadership position, and that wealth of knowledge will strengthen our provider network and contracting team,” said Marc Barclay, vice president of provider networks and contracting for BlueCross.
Prior to this appointment, Winston served as the corporate director of revenue and relationship management for Novant Health, Inc., in Charlotte, NC. He was responsible for leading the management of account relationships, negotiations and account management performance structures. Mr. Winston is returning to BlueCross after serving as a senior financial analyst in the late 90s. Mr. Winston graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a master’s degree in business administration in 1995.
