Signal Mountain Genealogical Society Meeting is September 2

The Signal Mountain Genealogical Society will meet at the Walden Town Hall, 1836 Taft Highway, on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Refreshments will be served, followed by a short business meeting and program.  

The speaker for the meeting, member and Signal Mountain resident, Marilyn Garner will present a program entitled, "Chattanooga Trivia." 

As always, visitors are welcome.

Christopher Parker Gets Life Prison Sentence For First-Degree Murder

A Criminal Court jury on Friday found Christopher Levi Parker guilty of first-degree murder in the slaying of Robbie McClure at a trailer in Hixson. Judge Barry Steelman then sentenced Parker to life in prison. He was convicted though two people who witnessed the shooting refused to testify against him.
