Terry Turner picked up for the Ridgeside Commission.

Karen Paul Stone picked up for the Walden Commission.

The qualifying deadline is Aug. 21 at noon.

East Ridge Police Make Arrest After Vehicle Pursuit And Crash At Volkswagen Plant

East Ridge Police responded early Friday  at 1:37 a.m.  to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the complainant’s driveway on Connell Street. Police arrived and observed a black Ford Explorer parked at the rear of the residence. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jason Hughes, 35, who was acquainted with the complainant. Sentencing Postponed For Former Murray County Magistrate Convicted Of Sex And Corruption Charges

The sentencing has been delayed for the former Murray County chief magistrate who was found guilty on all six sex and corruption counts that he faced. Judge Harold Murphy said in a written opinion that it would be prudent for him to first rule on a motion for a new trial that has been filed by the attorney for Bryant Cochran.
