Business As Usual

Well, the dude that slung the most mud beat the guy that mistakenly uttered the word "compromise." Also, Scott "impregnate while you wait" DesJarlais, that stud of District 4, beat the lessor of two evils, Senator Jim Tracy. Then our own fossil in the Senate, Lamar Alexander, withstood a strong challenge from the foaming-at-the-mouth Tea Party radicals.

Thankfully, we decided that our state Supreme Court was in good hands and that Rhonda could do less damage on the school board than on the County Commission. When asked if she would be able to work with the new commissioner Fairbanks, she quickly stated, "He will have to work with me, I'm on the school board." Way to go, Rhonda, arrogant and egotistical even in defeat.

Finally, the guy that claims he can squeeze blood out of a turnip in collecting unpaid fines from convicts and folks with no jobs or assets beat an incumbent that, by all accounts, had been doing a fine job for the last 20 years. Amazing what partisan politics can accomplish, huh?

Anyway, the people have mumbled, and from the myopic choices we've made, it will likely be business as usual.
