Tina Turner
Tina Turner, the Queen of Rock and Roll, finds a permanent home near Nutbush city limits with the grand opening of the Tina Turner Museum at Flagg Grove School on Friday, Sept.
26, in Brownsville, Tn. The West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center is proud to announce the addition of the museum which is housed inside of the restored Flagg Grove School (the one room school Tina attended during her childhood). Working with Tina and her team, the exhibit will feature multiple costumes, video, audio and personal commentary from Tina herself.
“When we first discovered the Flagg Grove School and started developing ideas on preserving the structure, we could have never dreamed that we would be where we are today,” said West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center Executive Director Sonia Outlaw Clark. “Working with Tina's team has been such a rewarding experience and the memorabilia we are unveiling has not been previously assembled nor on public view. Her story is intertwined with that of her classmates, several of whom will be in attendance.”
Designed by renowned interior designer Stephen Sills, the museum sanctioned by Tina will serve as a physical representation of her iconic impact. The details on the grand opening are below.
