BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Community Trust presented Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area with a check in the amount of $10,000 on Wednesday, to benefit Habitat’s new Neighborhood Revitalization Program.
“BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is helping us to service more families in the Bushtown area,” said David Butler, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area. “This generous donation, coupled with the countless volunteer hours BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee employees will dedicate to this project over the next two weeks, is truly a testament of the commitment the company has to enhance neighborhoods throughout the Chattanooga Area.”
Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization Program is a series of four community outreach services designed to help Habitat affiliates provide a wider range of housing solutions: A Brush with Kindness – exterior repair and preservation, weatherization, critical home repair and rehab of homes.
More than 100 BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee employees are volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area between Sept.
10-19, to complete neighborhood revitalization projects in the Bushtown neighborhood and at Orchard Knob Middle School. Presently, Habitat is only working in the Bushtown community; however, they are hoping to expand services to other communities in the near future pending additional community support and funding.
