THP Arrests Wanted Felon From Michigan

  • Friday, September 12, 2014

A Tennessee state trooper on Friday arrested a wanted felon from Michigan after locating the suspect driving on I-24 in Hamilton County. Early Friday morning, the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) received notification from the Michigan State Police (MSP) advising that Mikos L. Harper, 26, of Mount Morris, Mi., was possibly in the Chattanooga area. The MSP advised that Harper was a fugitive from justice who was armed and dangerous, possibly driving a 2006 black Chevy Malibu with a Michigan license tag.

Just after 10 a.m., while patrolling I-24 near mile marker 180, Trooper Steven Bourque observed a black Chevy Malibu driving over the speed limit. Upon additional investigation, Trooper Bourque confirmed the vehicle was indeed the suspect vehicle out of Michigan. Trooper Bourque, who was assisted by Sergeant Mike Brown and Sergeant Allan Bailey, initiated a felony traffic and Harper into custody without incident.

Harper is in custody at the Hamilton County Jail awaiting extradition to Michigan. The THP confirmed that Harper has the following felony warrants issued by authorities in Genesee County (Flint) Michigan: two counts of assault with intent to commit murder, home invasion first degree, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, discharging a firearm in a building, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony firearms procession out of Genesee County, Flint, Mi.
