Beryl Carter Cooper, 90, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, September 13, 2014.

Beryl was born in Jackson County, Al., to Walter and Nora Millican. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the J. Fred Johnson Sunday School class. She and her husband, William Cooper, Jr., were active in many veteran groups including the local POW group.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Mason Carter; second husband, William Cooper, Jr.; her parents; and sister, Mary Ellen Billingsley.

Surviving are her sons, Kenneth (Brenda) Carter and Rayford (Becky) Carter; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Millican; stepson, William G. (Barbara) Cooper III; and stepdaughters, Pamela Cooper (Gary) Helton and Candis Cooper (Charlie) Potts.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the funeral home with Dr. Gary Carver officiating.

Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1505 N. Moore Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37411.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn.
