Dalton State Golfers Tied For Sixth At Coastal Georgia

  • Monday, September 15, 2014

The Dalton State men’s golf team finished the first round of the 13-team, two-day Coastal Georgia Invitational on Monday in a tie for sixth place.

The Roadrunners and Reinhardt each shot a team total of 305 to finish 17 strokes back of the hosts from Coastal Georgia (287).

“It’s not the start we wanted but we saw lots of things we can build on,” said Dalton State Coach Ben Rickett. “It’s great to see some conference competition early on in the season so we know where we stand on day one.”

“We have one more shot Tuesday to see if we can correct some things and move up a few spots,” added Rickett.

“It’s a long season and we just need to focus on improving each week.”

Dalton State’s Sean Elliott shot a team low 73. Austin Hughes shot 75, Max Bruck 78, and Levi Nix 79.  Dalton Johnson was out of the scoring with an 80.

Jacob Bleck of Warner University was low medalist for the round with a 69.
