The Chattanooga Mocs ended their day where it started, in sixth-place at the Cardinal Cup at Cardinal Golf Course. Today’s 308 provided a final total of 912 which is eight back of fifth-place Middle Tennessee.
Isabella Loza had the low round today with a 75. Agathe Sauzon added a 76, while Emily McLennan turned in a 78. Megan Woods was a shot behind at 79 to complete the counting cards. Sarah Dolmovich had the drop score with an 83. Cris Perez, playing as an individual, had an 80.
“We’re a wee bit disappointed,” coach Colette Murray said.
“I felt we would play better than we did. It is the first tournament of the year so we kind of got all the cobwebs knocked off. We are all looking forward to Vanderbilt
on Friday.”
McLennan was low for the tournament for the Mocs. She tallied a 9-over par 225 to end up 13th. Loza (T26) and Sauzon (T29) also finished in the top 30.
Louisville came from behind for the team win. Starting the day in second behind the Blue Raiders, the host shot 295 to finish at 888, six strokes clear of Memphis in second. Bradley’s Danielle Lemek’s 69 today vaulted her to medalist honors at 3-under 213. The 36-hole leader Michaela Fletcher (Memphis) ended up second at plus one.
