Korean War Veteran Was Pastor On Lookout Mountain

Hubert Bernard Everette, Jr. 82 of Lookout Mountain, died on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.

He was born on Lookout Mountain, to the late Hubert and VeraEverette. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was pastor of Mt. Carmel Gospel Church on Lookout Mountain.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Shelby Chadwick and Sammy Everette.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Maudine Everette of Lookout Mountain, children, Eddie (Rene) Everette, of Lookout Mountain, Randy (Vickie) Everette of Valley Head, Michael Everette of Dalton, Angela (Jon) Cordell of Chattanooga, siblings, Dewell Everette of Chickamauga, Billy Everette of LaFayette, Patsy Gilbert of Lookout Mountain, Janet Mason of Chickamauga, Sylvia Brandon, Jimmy Everette, Barry Everette, Larry Everette all of Lookout Mountain, grandchildren, Eli, Kyle, Ali, Katie, Ryan, Mark, Joel, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Mt. Carmel Gospel Church on Lookout Mountain. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Lookout Mountain. Family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, and from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Fort Oglethorpe.
