Shirley Natalie Murphy, 81, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014.
She was born in Gary, IN on July 25, 1933 and resided there for 40 plus years. She was the daughter of late Dewitt W. Clinton and Daisy Natalie Forsythe. She was of the Methodist faith, and attended Christ United Methodist Church. Shirley enjoyed singing, playing the piano, reading, and crafting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Margret Rebeca Greene; grandfather, Nathaniel Frederick Foresythe; and son, John Steven Murphy.
Shirley is survived by three sons, James Hill Murphy Jr. (Nina), David Bryan Murphy and Christopher Thomas Murphy (Debbie); and three grandchildren, Laurel Murphy, Anna Murphy and Nichole Murphy.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, September 19 from 4-6 p.m. at Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.
The family requests that no flowers are sent, and that all money is donated to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
