City Council Taking Applications From Those Interested In Serving On City IDB

The City Council is taking applications from those interested in serving on the city industrial Development Board (IDB).

 

There are four vacancies on the board that has been in the news for its controversial approval and re-approval of $9 million in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) for developers of Aetna Mountain.

Resumes are due by Sept. 29.

 

Qualified persons must be a registered voter in the City of Chattanooga, and experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

 

The City Council will make the selections on Oct. 7 under a system in which three members choose two, three others choose a third and three others choose a fourth.

 

Here is the notice:

 

The City Council of the City of Chattanooga will be accepting resumes from qualified persons interested in serving on the Chattanooga Industrial Development Board (IDB).  Resumes must be received by the Clerk of the Council by mail, e-mail, in person, or by fax no later than noon on Monday, September 29, 2014.

Qualified persons must be a registered voter in the City of Chattanooga, and experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

  2. Business Development
  3. Planning
  4. Commercial Real Estate
  5. Legal
  6. Municipal Government

 

The election of Board members will occur on October 7 by the City Council in their 4 PM public meeting.
