New Red Roof Plus+ Opens On Williams Street

A new Red Roof PLUS+ and Suites is set to open Wednesday at 2431 Williams St.

The 49-suite property features Wi-Fi, hair dryers, flat screen TVs, iron/ironing boards and mini-refrigerators in every room.

It  features NextGen design plus a total smoke free designation, 36HD channels and will also include a new premium room type. Of the 49 suites, the property has six premium king suites and six premium double suites. Each premium suite offers guests a complimentary bottled water, orange juice, trail mix, popcorn and two Nature Valley granola bars, and an extra pillow.

In addition to premium rooms, the property offers a free continental breakfast, fitness facility, swimming pools, and full-kitchen suites.


Appalachian Community Bank Vice President Sentenced To Federal Prison For Bank Fraud

William R. Beamon, Jr., a/k/a “Rusty” Beamon has been sentenced to three years, six months in federal prison for defrauding Appalachian Community Bank, in Ellijay, Georgia. Only 2 Bradley County Commissioners Support 30-Cent Wheel Tax

After a lengthy debate, only two members of the Bradley County Commission voted in favor of a 30-cent wheel tax on Monday night. The measure needed 10 votes to pass. Several commissioners said a wheel tax would have certainly brought on a petition for a referendum and then defeat at the polls. Ringgold Woman Killed In Foley, Ala., Wreck

A Ringgold woman died from injuries she sustained in a two-car wreck at Foley, Ala., on Friday night, and several others from Chattanooga were injured. The victim was Sharon Shields, 56, a former TVA employee. The accident happened on U.S. 98 outside the grounds of a hot air balloon festival.
