The Baylor girls soccer team earned a 1-1 tie against D-II East/Middle Region opponent Ensworth Saturday.
Katelyn Smith scored in the 12th minute off a Lainee Bohannon corner kick for Baylor and led 1-0 at halftime beore Ensworth tied the match with a goal in the 78th minute..
Baylor goalkeeper Rachel Paty had five saves, while Jenna Rolfe had five saves for Ensworth.
"I was very proud of our effort and for Rachel Paty to step in goal for us," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said. "She did an amazing job with little time to prepare and the other girls rallied around her. Even though this was a draw, the girls showed tremendous heart and courage with only 12 players to play today."
Baylor is now 3-7-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the region.
GPS 3, Oak Ridge 0
GPS improved to 8-1-1 overall as Samantha Jackson (assist Lucy St. Charles),Akia Harris (Keyle Snyder) and Keyle Snyder scored goals for the victorious Bruisers.
Savannah Williams had four saves in goal for GPS and the Bruisers led in shots, 15-4.
